HOW TO GET AN EDUCATION IN ANY ENVIRONMENT

1. Don't expect to be appreciated. Your only expectation should be to learn.

2. Don't come to school to have personal relationships. Keep your eye on the career you are here to achieve.

3. Don't allow others or your environment to affect who you are.

4. Look for opportunities to improve the classroom atmosphere without commenting on the challenges. Influence your environment in a positive way, don't let your environment infuence you negatively.

5. Each day is an opportunity to learn to work with different personalities. This is a blessing, even when it does not seem so.

6. Do your classwork and services well, remembering your mission is to be a daymaker, not a daybreaker. A cosmetologist is in their career to serve others.

7. Remember to do your best, where you are. Complete your education in a timely manner, without rushing. Keep in mind you are building your career. This building is done in steps, as on a ladder. Learning is done one step at a time. You must place your foot on the step firmly. If you skip a step or place only a part of your foot on the step, you will fall.

VERY IMPORTANT FOR ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS


Hello Parents and Students,

I would like for you to know I am working diligently setting up an online classroom.  Classes will begin on Monday, March 30th and will continue until we go back to our school campus  with our normal schedule.  I will be utilizing Schoology and my blogpage, mrsldz.blogspot.com mainly for informational purposes.  Our actual assignments will be done through Milady MindTap, an online classroom by our Milady Cosmetology Textbook company. You will receive more information on this when I have everyone's correct and best contact information. 

The best way to contact me is through email:  laura.zoch@stjohns.k12.fl.us.  You can also contact me at 904 – 290 – 6646 between the hours of 8:00 am and 9:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.  So I can best help you through our online course, please respond with the following information:

1. Best email address and phone number for communicating assignment and calendar information  
  to the student. 
2. Best phone number and email address for communicating with a parent.

This is definitely a different way of learning Cosmetology, so your patience is greatly appreciated.    I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Food and Drink

Hello Ladies, I regret to inform you we may no longer have drinks in our classroom.  Previously, the reusable cups with lids were acceptable, but as there have been students that have been using disposable cups, some with no lids, we can no longer have drinks in our classroom. Going forward, please keep your drinks in the break room.  Food has always been only in the break room.  This policy remains the same.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
