HOW TO GET AN EDUCATION IN ANY ENVIRONMENT

HOW TO GET AN EDUCATION IN ANY ENVIRONMENT

1. Don't expect to be appreciated. Your only expectation should be to learn.

2. Don't come to school to have personal relationships. Keep your eye on the career you are here to achieve.

3. Don't allow others or your environment to affect who you are.

4. Look for opportunities to improve the classroom atmosphere without commenting on the challenges. Influence your environment in a positive way, don't let your environment infuence you negatively.

5. Each day is an opportunity to learn to work with different personalities. This is a blessing, even when it does not seem so.

6. Do your classwork and services well, remembering your mission is to be a daymaker, not a daybreaker. A cosmetologist is in their career to serve others.

7. Remember to do your best, where you are. Complete your education in a timely manner, without rushing. Keep in mind you are building your career. This building is done in steps, as on a ladder. Learning is done one step at a time. You must place your foot on the step firmly. If you skip a step or place only a part of your foot on the step, you will fall

Duty list for this week is now available.  Please remember, after you have completed your duty, notify the Shop Manager.  Shop Manager will verify the duty has been completed correctly and will then sign off.  Thank you all, once again, for your cooperation in keeping our classroom clean and running smoothly.  Your participation is vital.

All Classes

We have a wonderful opportunity to complete services on new faces and hands Monday, 4/1!  The Diesel Mechanic class will be coming over for manicures and facials.   The class has a total of 17 students.  I am not sure of the exact number that will be coming to our class, but it should be a large group.  They have the time available to get both a manicure and a facial, so let them know what you have to offer.  Nothing wrong with offering to wax those brows, either!  Please do not wax beard/mustache hair.  The hair is too coarse and waxing can do harm.  They can get manicures or hot oil manicures.  Take a look at those hands, educate and recommend.  Please set up as soon as you arrive.  Thank you!

Duty List for Week of 3/25 - 3/29

Click here for duty list for Week of 3/25 - 3/29

This posting is for all students in my classes.  I have created the duty list for the upcoming week.  Each week I will post this list on the bulletin board.  For those of you have been in my class thus far this year, this list is different than  what I have previously posted.  If you were in my classes last year, it will look familiar.  We currently have a large group.  This is why I have switched to the detailed list.  There are high school students, as well as adults, on this list.  EVERYONE please read the list each week and follow directions.  High school students, please complete your task 10 - 15 minutes before you leave each day.  Adult students, please complete your tasks at 2:45 unless otherwise instructed in the directions or if you have afternoon theory class.  All tasks must be completed before afternoon theory.  You must sign off when you have completed your duty to verify it is completed.   Each week there will be a Shop Manager.  This person will be your go to for anything you need to complete your assigned task.  When you complete your task, please report to the Shop Manager. Shop Managers, it is your responsibility to check all tasks when they are completed to make sure it is done correctly. Everyone, please let me know if you need my assistance with anything. Communication and teamwork is the key to our success in having a safe, clean classroom to work in. Thank you for your help with this very important part of our day. Oh, one last thing. Remember, clean up and teamwork are part of your Employability Skills grade. Thank you, again.
