HOW TO GET AN EDUCATION IN ANY ENVIRONMENT

HOW TO GET AN EDUCATION IN ANY ENVIRONMENT

1. Don't expect to be appreciated. Your only expectation should be to learn.

2. Don't come to school to have personal relationships. Keep your eye on the career you are here to achieve.

3. Don't allow others or your environment to affect who you are.

4. Look for opportunities to improve the classroom atmosphere without commenting on the challenges. Influence your environment in a positive way, don't let your environment infuence you negatively.

5. Each day is an opportunity to learn to work with different personalities. This is a blessing, even when it does not seem so.

6. Do your classwork and services well, remembering your mission is to be a daymaker, not a daybreaker. A cosmetologist is in their career to serve others.

7. Remember to do your best, where you are. Complete your education in a timely manner, without rushing. Keep in mind you are building your career. This building is done in steps, as on a ladder. Learning is done one step at a time. You must place your foot on the step firmly. If you skip a step or place only a part of your foot on the step, you will fall

Welcome to our Nail Class!

This is the first week we have had our duty list posted with the new group.  The link is always here, on our blog site posting.  It is also printed and available on the class bulletin board by the door to the classroom. Some of these things are completed in the morning, some at the end of the day.  Dispensary assignments must be checked on frequently throughout the day to keep our dispensary clean.  It is critical that our classroom is always kept clean and organized.  Please remember, we are a team.  Be respectful to one another. Treat other  as you would like to be treated.  Pick up after yourself and help one another.  If you see something that needs cleaned up during the day, just do it, without complaint.

High School students, remember to start your clean up 10 minutes before the end of your period.  Leaving a mess is not acceptable.  If you are sharing an area with other students, be sure to clean up your mess before leaving.  No one wants to pick up after you.

Please let the shop manager know when you have completed your cleaning.  Shop Mangers are responsible for checking your work and signing off that your job has been completed. Thank you all so much for your cooperation.  Working together creates a pleasant environment for all.

Duty List Week of 9/16. Shop Manager: Christina Burns

Keeping our classrooms and salon clean are top priority for your safety and the safety of the client.  Thank you in advance for keeping up with your assigned duty.  If anyone is on double duty, my list and Ms. Tammy's list, please let me know.  I will make adjustments when appropriate. Please remember to let your shop manager know when your duty has been completed.  It is extremely important laundry be started first thing each morning.  All colors must be washed separately.  The only exception is lavender facial towels can be washed with the whites. Remember, we only have the washing machine until 11:30, then the hair students have the use of the machine for the afternoon.  Please fold and put away any towels that are removed from the dryer, it does not matter which group the towels belong to, they must be put away.

Salon pedicure chairs can be a little tricky to work with.  Please ask me for assistance the first time you use them.  Do any of you want toenail fungus or athlete's foot?  This is the most common foot funk to be spread in the salon due to improper cleaning. It is important for your safety and the safety of the client that the chairs be properly cleaned and maintained. It is critical that the pedicure chair cleaning team keep up with their responsibility.  All chairs must have end of the day cleaning, so if you are on Ms. Tammy's duty list this MUST be done. End of the week cleaning should be done every Thursday.
